Artist: Bobby Mackey (part 1)
In 2010, I was watching the TV show Ghost Adventures and saw Bobby Mackey's Music World being "investigated." My Mom had always wanted me to go there, and so I decided to check it out.
Before I go any further, let me tell you about Mr. Bobby Mackey. He was born in Concord, Kentucky; married to Denise Durnell Mackey. A very talented, humble, friendly, traditional Country Singer, who has sang with stars such as George Jones and Merle Haggard. He won his first Talent Show at the age of 4 years old. His hobby was songwriting.
In 1970, he had been laid off from working on the railroad. Bobby decided to take his hobby and created a full time job singing. He saved his money, and in 1978, he opened up what has became known as Bobby Mackey's Music World. Due to the club's history, it is "one of the 10 most haunted places in America." But I will get to that later...
Bobby can be heard playing on Fridays and Saturdays at the club. He also gives guest appearances around the Tri-State area. He has been on numerous radio stations, television stations, including shows like The Geraldo Rivera Show, Ghost Hunters, A Haunting, and many others. Folks are intrigued by his traditional country music, and the history of his club.
You can enjoy Bobby's music live by visiting the club on Fridays and Saturdays.
